Cassy made her way over the old worn path, threw the woods. She had on her old black cloak on with her bow and quiver on her back. She did not know why she had decided into the forest, it could have been because she had a feeling that something unexpected was going to happen hear.
Cassy looked up when she heard something move in the shadows. When she turned around she felt her heart skip a beat, in front of her was was a large black bear. She took a few steps back against a large tree, then instantly regretted it. As soon as she moved the bear started charging at her. Within a second she felt herself being pinned against the ground, the bear ripping at her arms, that had gone up instantly the protect her face.

The Lost Forest was a hum of energy as the bear charged at the woman, however, she was not alone. The moment her back hit the tree the branches of that tree began sway like being nudged awake. The roars of the bear rumbled through the woods, though it was mixed with another sound, the sound of whispers. It was like a dam being forged, the sound was sway through the trees, wrapping around the bear and the woman pinned to the ground. In an instant the bear stopped attack and looked up, glancing around uneasily, still crushing the woman beneath it's massive paws.
Another gust of wind billowed through the large tree, which kicked up leaves and dust from the ground. No longer was the bear growling, but the air around them was growling, howling and those whispers? They sounded so feral, so animalistic.
If one was paying attention the tree was becoming duller in shade and all the hue was taken out of it as a formidable looking woman stepped out from the other side of the tree trunk. Rounding the tree, the rather intimidating woman stood at her full height, those steel grey eyes watching the bear closely. The animal stopped attacking the poor woman on the ground, and kept eye contact with the new creature stepping out of the tree.
With just a lock of eye contact, the bear began to take steps back away from the woman on the ground. The tall figure still keeping eye contact with the bear, bowed low to the ground out of utter respect. The bear as well, nodded it's head and began to take off.
Who was this intimidating creature stepping out of the trees? Well, if the woman previously being pinned down to the ground was in touch with her own half dryad blood, she would have heard stories of a large Sequoia tree from the old times of Narnia, how this Sequoia started off as a simple seed planted on Narnia soil and grew into a huge tree within the woods, and how mother nature gave birth to one of her first of thousands of Dryads. That first dryad? Sarai. Her history is embedded in the soil, her life written through the roots. One of a few now, of the pure blooded dryads. She stays true to her fables as being of a great race of dryads, formidable in battle. Noble, and wise.

Cassy could feet the weight of the bear lighten as the monster released her from its claws. She slowly moved her now bloody and clawed arms from in front of her face, with grate pain. She fried to sit up, but even the slightest movement was painful. she knew that she must have some broken ribs, because even taking a breath hurt her.
Cassy slowly looked around to see what had maid the bear run off. Then she saw the dryad standing bye the trunk of the tree that she was lying next to. Cassy slowly and painfully raised herself up so that she could see things more clearly. "Thank you." she said looking at the other woman, in a small whisper of a voice.
