"You said it yourself," Seren responded. "The dedication to prevail and the yearning to grow. We both do what we were born to do Sarai of the forest. You were created to defend these forests and you do so no matter what the cost, I was created to kill. It is not something I am running from or to it is just who I am, how I prevail I have never known anything else. You have killed to defend your forests, to fulfill your purpose as I have killed to fulfill mine." A new thought came to him then, something he supposed that he had always known but had never really realized until just now. "I suppose what I am looking for then is a new purpose."

Sarai's head tilted to the side as the woman took a running leap to the edge of the branch, and jumped. Soaring in the air for a brief moment, a branch suddenly gracefully swayed out from it's trunk and caught her placing her back down on ground. Glancing up to the bough that she was previously standing on, that silvery stare fell on Seren.
"You have to trust in yourself before you can find another purpose..." Sarai remained on the ground, wondering if he was going to take the leap. "Finding purposes in life is unpredictable, sometimes you don't know you have a purpose until it's too late. Perhaps you all ready have a purpose. Maybe you're new purpose is to change the person you have become. Perhaps killing is no longer the answer... perhaps your purpose NOW in life is to stop killing, and settle into a more productive and stable life..." Brow arched as that suggestion seemed rather plausible.

Seren smiled as the woman jumped off the branch and back to the ground. "Very pretty" he though to himself then calmly walked to the edge of the branch and simply stepped off. His body free fell with his cloak billowing out behind him as he plummeted. Seren landed on both feet with an audible thud but showed no sign of the impact as he calmly walked after the woman. "Productive and stable? I'm not exactly productive and stable material Sarai. We were not made for stability we are warriors war is what we do. Our only choice is to decide what we will fight for, what cause we will kill for. I would no sooner set down my arms then you would." He stepped closer to her his body taller even than hers, his dull faded blue eyes meeting her deep silver. "Can you show me a cause then? Whom would you kill?"

There was a certain excitment that flickered through that gaze as he stared right back at her. A look in those silver hues that could be described as whole, lively, and sure about herself. Those eyes that even in their darkest shined like the moon on a clear night. "I cannot show you a cause... for it's your own journey to find the purpose, and the meaning. I have found my own, and showing you my purpose would not help you find your own..." Voice trailed off again, as he took a step closer. He was significantly taller than her, despite the fact that she was an intimidating six feet.
"I would not kill without a reason to kill. I am a warrior, yes. But a senseless one? Never. I don't kill merely for the enjoyment of spilling blood, I kill for defense.... for safety and security." Even as he moved closer, Sarai remained planted where she was. The woman wasn't scared of Seren, far from it, she felt intrigued by his inner battle against right and wrong. "Even warriors need stability, and purpose. Regardless, we are going in circles...." Which they were, every comment that either of them made just turned right back to talking about purpose.
"What was your purpose in life, previously?" That was a good place to start.

"Previous to what?" Seren asked. It occurred to him that he had never talked to anyone for this long a time. Whoever this woman was whatever she was, she was easily the only person he had ever honestly cared about. "I have never known anything but death. Before I won my freedom I killed for other men, now I kill because it is what I must do to live, to survive, to grow. There was no previous."

A frown tugged on those features as she listened to Seren words. He had to fight for others? And now he is fighting for his own survival? A sigh expelled from those lips, as the wind responded to her sigh with a soft and gentle breeze billowing through the branches. Shaking her head, mahogany brown curls swayed with the breeze, a few strands blowing into her silvery gaze. "Then do not kill for others. Kill for protection, and security, but not for the sake of others." This was where they differed, Sarai only resorted to killing when debate, and other options were available.
"Find another purpose to survive, and live, and grow..." Voice was calm and soft as she spoke, it was refreshing and soothing in it's tone. Like a cool river stream in the heat of summer time. It was a relieving voice that sounded so compassionate.

"To protect what? To secure what?" Seren wanted so much to understand her to realize what she was telling him but he couldn't some part of him was still built for destruction, the part of him that needed human blood just to survive demanded it. Her voice drew him in wrapped him in it as she spoke but at the central core of his being he remained who he was the Claw of Tash and he wondered if he would ever get away from it's voice. "What purpose would that be?" Miles away on the fringes of the forest completely unaware of the Titans within the folds of it's leaves a group of fifteen Tashbaan woodsmen began to chop at the trees of the Forest.v

Sarai was actually getting a bit frustrated that he was not understanding anything she was saying. "To protect this, and secure this..." A hand rested on his chest, right over where his heart was, emphasizing the fact she was talking about his heart. Though, the feeling of calm and ease within the forest suddenly stopped. The wind began to whip around in a threatening whirl of dust and leaves. The noise was loud, and deafening, as the crows, and hawks, and eagles, and other fowl took to the skies screeching at the tops of their lungs, an obvious signal of threat and danger.
Hand quickly pulled back from Seren, and darted to the skies, the trees began to sway ominiously against the wind, and seemed to be motioning towards the edge of the forest. Those silver eyes turned a dull steel grey as she seemed to be listening to the words floating through the wind. Those words, and those plea's for help. Narrowing her gaze, Sarai had a sudden look of pain in her stare as she looked at Sarai. "Come. Perhaps you can find your purpose sooner than you think..." Soaring into the trees, Sarai seemed to be walking on air as she was all ready heading towards the edge of the forest. Despite being such a large and forboding figure, her movement was graceful, and agile through the canopy of the leaves.

Seren felt an odd sensation when the dryad placed her hand on his heart. A... warmth that started there and spread through his whole body a strange sensation that was unlike anything he had ever felt before and then just as swiftly it was gone. The woman looked up as if the forest itself was whispering to her then spoke and was moving swifter then thought. Seren stood a moment surprised at how quickly his first impulse had been to help her. After all his first impulse was supposed to be kill, had always been to kill and now... Regardless of that there was little doubt that when Sarai arrived at where she was going there would be death. Seren had all to often worn the same expression she had moments before. And so, his mind made up he raced after her. Moving like a ghost in the breeze he caught up with the dryad his body fluid his steps certain as they raced from tree to tree with inhuman and uncanny speed. When they finally arrived at the edge of the forest Seren saw what must have disturbed the Dryad. With a steady thump Telmarine axes fell against Narnian trees. There were twelve ax men in all being guarded by five soldiers. Definately not the worst odds Seren had faced and from what he had already seen of Sarai not much more then she could handle on her own. As this was her fight he let her take first action and waited his body coiled on the edge of a high branch like a snake waiting to spring.

Telmarines.... leave it to those in Telmar to cause such pain and destruction around here. At the very edge of the forest, still in the shadow of the foliage, Sarai stood on one of the branches of the trees watching the twelve men with axes striking deafening blows to the trees. She didn't even pay mind to the five soldiers, they were not her concern. No, it was those men hitting death upon creatures that cried out to the wind for mercy. A disgusted sneer curled over those lips, as bow was pulled from behind her back, and arrow hitched up onto the string. Pulling it taut, the woman barely aimed before it went whizzing through the branches of the tree and hitting it's target dead on. Right through the throat of one of the ax-men. Those silvery-grey eyes flickered with such a direct hit, as the man fell to the ground, Sarai was all ready hitching another arrow onto her bow.

Seren watched as the arrow struck its target. He smiled slightly and watched as the soldiers quickly, whatever else you could say they weren't amateurs, worked out where the arrow had come from and began walking over in a tight V formation. Seren smiled if she wanted the ax men that was fine with him the soldiers would be more interesting anyway. He moved back slightly on his branch and then ran forward as swift as thought and jumped plummeting in a tight controlled fall towards the men. He landed in front of them easily absorbing the shock with his knees and drawing his sword in a tight upward ark. Before the soldiers knew what was happening their leaders headless corpse was slumping to the ground.

Was this a form of alliance? She actually wasn't expecting Seren to help her. Maybe that wasn't his intentions, but regardless it was assistance no matter how selfishly taken by him.
As Seren was attacking the soldiers, Sarai took a running leap from the top most branch, and soared into the sky. What happend next was different. Three abnormally large hawks, grasped the leather clad woman and carried her over the fighting soldier to send her landing on a pile of logs. Arrow still pulled taut on the bow was finally released and sent plummeting into the chest of another ax-man. Two down, ten more to go.
Though, she didn't have much time to deal with hitching another arrow on her bow, she harnessed the weapon back on her back, as she pulled out that long sword. Gracefully cutting through the wind, she leapt from the pile of logs and landed right on top of the nearest man weilding an ax. Sending him flat against the ground, Sarai held the sword above her head, as she stood right on the chest of the man and slammed the sword right through his chest, and hitting the ground beneath him. There was no last breath to be expelled as the man lay lifeless below her feet. Sword was ripped from the gaping hole in his chest, and arced around to hold it ready for the next man who would want to fall victim to her sword.

As Seren had noticed before these soldiers were good. Well three of them were anyway. These three immediately fell back from the body of the leader and drew their swords, the fourth simply stood and stared at the corpse in shock. It was the last thing he ever saw. The closest of the three remaining moved forward with his sword aimed high for Seren's head. He lost his hand first and before his sword had hit the ground his life was gone as well.

It had been said that Sarai had eyes as sharp as a hawk, and just to prove so, a few of the men with axes began to fall back. Completely terrified of this warrior woman, however, one over zealous man hurled his ax straight for Sarai. Had the woman not been paying attention, it would have chopped her head clean off her shoulders. That... was no the case. Still standing on the chest of the dead man, her left hand grabbed the ax mid-flight right by the handle, and hurled it right back towards the now shocked man. With a disgusting THUMP, the ax was embedded into his chest and he fell back.
With all her attention on the remaining six ax-men.... wait, six? Seven was scrambling up the logs behind her to try and surprise her with an attack from the back. Instead, he was met with the tip of an arrow pointing straight for his skull as he came leaping from the pile of logs. He fell lifeless beside his comrade under her feet.
Finally, Sarai took a step towards the remaining six, two of the men found swords, and were brandishing them in hopes of saving their own lives. Those silvery eye caught the bright light, and made her eyes glow and deadly shine. Her own sword was masterfully sweeping through the air, and as she reached the first man with a sword, it barely had to make a swipe across him to have his neck cleared entirely off his shoulders. The second man, completely baffled at how swiftly Sarai moved began to take uneasy steps back from the warrior, just to have him stumble backwards and on top of an ax that laid before him. Four left. Four.... snivelling, pitiful excuses for humans.

Seren offered the two remaining soldiers a smile. This was right, whatever other conflicts and questions waited on the other side of this conflict for right now Serens mind was crystal clear. Kill or be killed, that simple. That pure. The two of them came as one hoping to overwhelm the creature that opposed them by outnumbering. One swiping at Seren's side the other aiming a blow at his head. There was a sickening crunch as Serens foot met the elbow of the soldier swiping at his waist and the other man let out a yelp of pain as Serens free hand grabbed his wrist and stopped him in mid swing. Whatever ideas he had of escape ended when Seren's sword plunged through his chest. The remaining soldier stumbled backward clinging his shattered arm to his chest and hurling his sword at Serens head with his one good arm. Seren moved easily out of the way with a smile that purely communicated how proud he was of the little soldiers efforts and at the same time promised that his end was coming. A second later it came.

Those four ax-men were no match against her, they seemed to cower in a corner, trying to make themselves invisible. A cruel sneer pulled over her lips as she stood above them, each of them clutching to their axes like it would save them. "Stand up... I can not strike a man that refuses to fight..." Her voice was a sharp growl, as all four of them stood, trembling before her.
"You are not worthy of me killing you. Go. Run to your King in Telmar, and tell him of your plight, perhaps he will show mercy on your pitiful lives. Tell him of your terrors in the Lost Forest, and the noble fight that you have put up in hopes of saving your lives from the mission your king sent you on. Tell him of the lives you ended in hopes of staying true to the Telmarine name. Tell him all your false prophesies, and lies of glory and greatness. Be goen with you before I change my mind!" All four of them began to run in the opposite direction, as Sarai resheathed her sword. Those silver eyes never faultered in that glowing hue as she pulled out her bow, and three arrows. Mounting them on to the string she pulled it taut and released three arrows, hiting three of the four ax-men running away from her. "It only takes one to deliver a message..."

Seren walked up to the Dryad as the last of the ax men fell to her arrows. "Well fought," he said inclining his head toward the dead bodies around her. She looked like one of the warrior Queens the Telmarines speak of, all beauty and pride and strength, and death. It made Seren smile. "They will come with more." He said matter of factly. "The Tisroc is not one to give up easily."

"Of course they will. And when they do, I will be ready to do just like I did, until they understand that these creatures are living being's as well..." Sarai hooked that bow right back onto it's holster as she glanced over all the fallen trees. Such a sight brought sorrow, and pain to her soul. These were homes, they were lives, these trees were great beasts as well. A hand rested on one of the logs, fingers gracefully curling over the bark of the tree as she shook her head. The wind was heavy with sorrow around them, as all the animals seemed to either bellow in pain, or just remained silent.

Seren sat down as the woman spoke. He crossed his legs and started idly cleaning his sword while his mind tried to catch up with the rest of him. A lot had changed in the past hour or so Seren wasn't necessarily against change just not used to it. His life had been the same for far too long. "Where did you learn to fight?" He finally asked after a few moments silence. Phoenix wasn't generally one for conversation but that was just another thing that seemed to have changed about him. He actually cared about this Dryad... wanted to know who she was, what made her work the way she did. Strange.

Sarai watched him take a seat, however the woman remained standing. A constant vigil over this newly christened graveyard. Though, when he spoke, those silvery eyes darted to look down at him cleaning his sword. Where did she learn to fight? That was a good question, staring up into the sky, the birds were soaring into the air, watching the great distances for her.
"It is knowledge that I was born with. I did not learn to fight, it was a gift given to me at birth." The area was silent, the wind was barely a gust as Sarai moved to stand beside him. "Did you learn to fight? Or was it a gift given to you at birth?" That seemed like a valid question, his fighting was beyond skilled, it was almost like it came naturally, like that was what he was 'meant' to do.
